This combined with the more than 300 mix settings included in EZmix 2 gives you a near incomprehensible amount of tools for your general mixing needs, your vocals, drums, mastering and above all – guitar and bass tones.

EZmix EZmix 2 is a multi-effect plug-in that lets you assign professionally designed audio processing effect chains to any audio source. A guitar amp, mixing engineer and mastering suite all in one convenient package. The EZmix 2 philosophy is as simple as it is complex. You only see the easy part – everything else goes on behind the scenes. Lend some pro secrets and platinum record magic to your music – it deserves to sound great! EZmix 2 was designed to be as easy and intuitive as humanly possible but still leave you creative leverage – hence the two rotary controls. These are the central pieces of the software. They let you dial in and customize each setting. However, they don’t simply add more or less of a specific signal chain, they control each setting’s sometimes complex network of effects and allow you to tweak a creative take on each. In other words, each preset is much more than just one, plain setting. Each signal chain preset in EZmix 2 involves a series of effect units, expertly dialed in by professional engineers. A setting can involve anything from a plain but perfectly simulated guitar cabinet to a complex network of sends, effects and parameters. EZmix 2 is a powerful package that combines a multitude of quality studio effects with the know-how of professional engineers. As soon as you select one of the ready-made settings, a complex chain of effect units instantly loads seamlessly in the background.
ANDY SNEAP EZMIX PACK Would you want one-click settings for a variety of mix and recording scenarios that transformed your DI signals to match the sound of one of the most influential metal producers of the past two decades? This expansion for EZmix 2 was personally designed by British superstar producer Andy Sneap. It focuses primarily on guitar and bass tones but also includes a selection of settings for lead vocals, background vocals and drums. Over the last couple of decades, Andy’s mixes have seen him rise to international fame, lent him work on albums by some of the biggest names in modern metal and overall, his skills have had an instrumental role in shaping the sound of metal as we know it in the new millennium. Andy’s discography reads like a who’s who in recent metal history and includes the likes of DevilDriver, Saxon, Testament, Exodus, Accept and Killswitch Engage, to name a few. The included guitar and bass tones were emulated and EQ-matched against the source material from some of the most noted productions in his extensive catalogue. The end result presents a jaw-dropping similarity and gives you a multitude of options for bass guitar as well as clean, rhythm and lead guitar. Add to that Andy’s custom settings for various lead vocals, background vocals and drums and you’ll have a set of extremely powerful audio shaping tools that will add a new dimension to your songs. AMPS EZMIX PACK For the Amps EZmix Pack, we dove headfirst into the vaults of the the last few decades of guitar inspired music and came back out with a complete songwriting toolbox for anything from rock and blues to pop and country guitar. BASS TOOLBOX EZMIX PACK The Bass Toolbox EZmix Pack comes with a wide variety of presets custom-made solely for bass guitar. You’ll find anything from amp and cab simulation settings to signal chains for amp and DI combos as well as inserts applicable on any type of source bass guitar audio.“The idea was to compile something that would cater to a broad use, regardless of genre. A collection that covered the whole gamut of fundamental tools you’d need to get your bass right in a mix scenario”, says Toontrack sound designer Ulf Edlund. A bass guitar in a mix situation is seldom just a plain and simple instrument signal. It often involves a long chain of effects such as compression, EQ, tape simulator and various types of distortion. Most mix engineers would even agree to bass being one of the hardest instruments to have sit well in a production. That’s why Toontrack put together an all-star team of engineers to design this collection of go-to settings for mixing and recording bass guitar: Randy Staub (Metallica, Avril Lavigne), Neil Dorfsman (Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits), Pelle Henricsson (Refused, Meshuggah) as well as the Toontrack sound design team. This pack will provide anything from warm and muffled to edgy, modern and distorted tones – all the way from upright and acoustic to vintage, classic and modern. It’s a toolbox for bass guitar. Easy.
CLASSIC AMPS EZMIX PACK Some amps are so intertwined in the fabric of guitar driven music that its tones are unmistakable. For the past six decades, they have been the voice and vehicle of countless legendary players and in the process become legends themselves. We’re talking about classic amps – the tube driven work horses that defined and keep redefining genres.“We wanted to model the most influential amps of the past 50 years and put together a collection of tones that could work for any kind of guitar oriented music. We ended up with settings spanning anything from blues to British Invasion, punk, grunge and pop”, says Toontrack sound designer Ulf Edlund. The 50 guitar tone presets included in this pack present complete signal chains including amps, stomp boxes, speakers and various effects. The speakers were modeled using custom impulse responses, capturing the essence of several premium vintage cabinets and combos. The settings express a wide variety and cover anything from clean and muffled rhythm sounds to rich and saturated leads. This collection is a testament and homage to the amps that managed to survive and seep through several decades of musical progression. The inspiration to your next riff is just a mouse-click away. Make sure it sounds great – add some of that warm tube sizzle, subtle speaker rattle or warm fuzz to it! Some say the tone is in your fingers. We beg to differ.
METAL AMPS EZMIX PACK Metal Amps EZmix Pack comes with a collection of 50 guitar and bass tones based on IRs and modeling of some of the most well known high gain amps and speaker cabinets of the past decades. All presets were custom-made by renowned engineer Jocke Skog and designed to cater to a broad use spanning all the fragmented genres in classic and modern metal.“After having spent 20 years looking for the perfect guitar tone and recorded IRs for as long as I can remember, I have a pretty good idea where to start, what to avoid and what to look for. I am confident that anyone into thrash, death, black, djent or any type of metal in between will find several tones that sound absolutely right”, Jocke says. The pack focuses primarily on rhythm guitar and bass tones. Each setting comes with a set of user-adjustable parameters, allowing you add more or less of its unique characteristics to tweak and customize the preset into your own custom sound. From the several hundred IRs that were recorded for this session, Jocke boiled it down to the 50 absolutely stand-out ones and delivered a collection that will cover your fundamental needs in anything related to producing great metal guitar and bass tones. All in one package.
METAL GUITAR GODS EZMIX PACK Metal Guitar Gods is an expansion pack for EZmix 2, focusing solely on amp and cab simulation presets for guitar and bass. It comes with everything from rhythm, lead and clean sounds to settings for acoustic guitar and bass. All content was custom designed by four of the most iconic and trendsetting guitarists in metal: Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah), Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen), Misha “Bulb” Mansoor (Periphery) and Devin Townsend (ex-Strapping Young Lad, The Devin Townsend Project). We call this colossus of a product Metal Guitar Gods simply because these four gentlemen are nothing short of gods. Fredrik for being the father of “Djent” and for forever having changed metal as we know it by introducing eight-string guitars. Devin for continuously pushing the boundaries and the perception of what “metal” is. IA for gathering inspiration from all corners of the world, channeling it through his guitar and ending up with highly personal and inspiring renditions of our time. “Bulb” for riffs that go far and beyond what anyone thought was possible within the confines of a metal track!
