Designed in 1972, the 1081 was conceived as a combined mic/line preamp and equalizer section for the Neve modular consoles. The 1081R enhances this superb analogue technology with complete digital remote control, ideal for modern workflows.
The 1081R and the 1081 Air pioneered digital control technology, building upon the legacy of the remote preamps from the legendary Air console. The 1081R can be controlled from an 88R console or a connected Mac/PC. Taking advantage of this system by placing the 1081R rack in the live room keeps mic lines short, improving signal degradation at the crucial sound capture stage.
